Warbirds Report to Camp
« Back

March 1, 2005 - Dayton, Ohio— The gang is all hear and ready to go. The Dayton Warbirds officially open training camp today with practices being held at the SportsPlex in Fairborn. Today is the first day for all teams in the UIF to be in pads and be able to start contact drills.

“I can’t tell you how excited I am to get these guys going,” said Jeffrey A. Jodway, President and General Manager. “It’s like a dream come true and I firmly believe with the staff Coach King has put together and the players we have brought in this season, we will have a successful year on and off the field,” he added.

“These guys are just ready to stat hitting,” said Head Coach Matt King. “We saw just a glimpse of what to expect this past weekend in mini-camps and I know these guys are real anxious to start hitting each other. This is going to be a lot of fun,” King concluded.

The Warbirds kick off their inaugural season March 17th at the Nutter Center vs. Peoria. Season tickets are on sale now, but are going fast. For more information on the Warbirds, please visit their website at www.daytonwarbirds.com or call the office at (937) 427-9737.
