February 23, 2005 - Lexington, KY-The Lexington Horsemen announced Wednesday that quarterback Dusty Bonner will return for his third season with the team. Bonner has been the franchise’s signal caller for each of its three seasons and will be the team’s mainstay as it begins its first year as a member of the newly formed United Indoor Football League.

Bonner, 6’0, 220 lbs., is a former collegiate quarterback at both Valdosta State University and the University of Kentucky. He threw for 2,695 yards and 72 touchdowns during the 2004 regular season. Bonner’s 72 touchdowns rank as a league best in 2004. He also compiled a quarterback rating of 108.54, which also ranked first. Bonner has won 23 games as the signal caller for the Horsemen.

“I’m looking forward to the season, winning some games and having fun,” Bonner said. “We lost some talented players from last year, but we are looking forward to a number of great new players that are joining our roster.”
Bonner was named Atlantic Conference Offensive Most Valuable Player after finishing the 2003 season with 297 completions in 450 pass attempts for 2,833 yards, 63 touchdowns, and 18 interceptions.

“We are happy to have Dusty back with us this season,” Horsemen head coach Bob Sphire said. “Dusty is a winner and very level headed. He is a fiery competitor, who is very coachable and a joy to be around.”
