February 14, 2005 - Dayton, OH-The Dayton Warbirds are excited to announce the addition of another former Big 10 player, Sam Crenshaw. Crenshaw comes to the Warbirds from Penn State University, playing under coaching legend Joe Paterno.

Crenshaw played wide receiver and defensive back while at Penn State. After college he played in Arena Football 2, for the Peoria Pirates, Cincinnati Swarm, and Louisville Fire. Crenshaw played some linebacker as well.

Crenshaw excelled in football and basketball at Rayen High School and was a rare all-state pick in both sports. He was named a Prep-Stars All-American as well as a starter for the 1997 Big 33 High School Classic.

“Sam brings indoor experience as well as leadership to a young team,” said Head Coach Matt King. “We have some great athletes coming into camp and Sam is one of those guys that will push everyone to reach their peak performance. This will be a very exciting year,” added King.

The Warbirds kick off their inaugural season March 17th at the Nutter Center vs. Peoria. Season tickets are on sale now. For more information on the Warbirds, please visit their website at www.daytonwarbirds.com or call the office at (937) 427-9737.
