Estrada to Play AFL this Weekend

February 11, 2005 - Wheeling, WV-Former Ohio Valley Greyhounds and West Virginia Mountaineers star Angel Estrada will play this weekend for the Nashville Kats of the Arena Football League.

Estrada, who set a Greyhounds and league record with 14 interceptions last year, will play both offense and defense for the expansion Kats. Angel began his collegiate career at WVU as a walk-on, later earning a spot on the All-Big East Second Team his junior season.

Estrada was signed as a free agent on October 11th of last year after finishing up a stellar campaign with the Hounds. He was then signed to the practice squad last month and will now make his AFL debut.

The Kats will play the Philadelphia Soul this Sunday at 3:00 p.m. EST. The game will be broadcast on NBC.
