February 8, 2005 - Dayton, OH-The Dayton Warbirds, an expansion team in the United Indoor Football Association (UIF), are pleased to announce the signing of former Ohio State Buckeye Tim Williams to the team. Tim will be competing with Justin McClain from the University of Massachusetts for the kicking position on the team.

Williams was a 4-year starter for the Buckeyes from 1990 to 1993. He was named to the Ohio State University All-Century Team and 1st Team All-Big Ten in 1993. He was a finalist for the Lou Grozo Award in 1992. His 49 career field goals are an OSU record, as is his career percentage (99 percent) and 86 consecutive P.A.T.’s without a miss.

After college Williams spent two years in the NFL with several teams, including the Atlanta Falcons, Jacksonville Jaguars, and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He also spent a year with the Dayton Skyhawks in 2000 and another year with the Ohio Valley Greyhounds in 2001.

“We are excited to have someone of Tim’s experience on this squad,” said Head Coach Matt King. “Kicking is a vital part of indoor football and Tim and Justin will give us much needed security in that part of the game,” added King

The Warbirds kick off their inaugural season March 17th at the Nutter Center vs. Peoria. Season tickets are on sale now. For more information on the Warbirds, please visit their website at www.daytonwarbirds.com or call the office at (937) 427-9737.
