Petito, who has coached at Millard North for the last 20 years, brings a great deal of experience to the Beef family. He has over 200 career wins and three consecutive State title appearances, winning it all in 2003. Petito’s teams have ranked among the top ten in Nebraska 19 of the last 20 years. His teams have also ranked in the top five 13 of the last 20 years, and in the top three eight out of the last ten years. He has coached over 60 All-state athletes, three All-Americans, and Heisman trophy winner Eric Crouch.

Petito, a Chicago, IL, native was a four year starter at linebacker for Hastings College before becoming a coach with the Hastings College. In the spring of 2004 he was inducted into the Hastings College Hall of Fame. Petito will coach the offensive line for the Beef.

Chavez recently completed his 14th year coaching at Millard North High School and his third as the defensive coordinator. Under Chavez’s tutelage the Mustangs have lead the state in total defense two of the last three years while making three consecutive state title appearances. Chavez played for coach Petito at Millard North from 82 to 86. He then went on to be a four-year starter and team captain for Hastings College. Chavez was selected as a National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) All-American linebacker in 89 and later coached the defensive line and special teams for the Hastings Broncos. Chavez will coach the Beef Defensive Line.
