RB Chris Rainey is an “original” FireAnt and has played with the team every season since its inception in 2001. A standout high school quarterback at Amory, Rainey attended Mississippi State University from 1995-1999 where his position shifted to tailback. Upon graduation with a degree in educational psychology, Rainey played professionally in Germany before joining the FireAnts in 2001.

Former Ole Miss running back Joe Gunn has also signed on with the FireAnts for his second season.

Gunn finished his collegiate career ranked second on the Ole Miss career list for rushing yards with 2,749. Gunn is also ranked first in career rushing attempts with 630, second in career 100-yard rushing games with 12 and tied for second in career rushing touchdowns with 22 while playing with the Rebels.
