 January 24, 2005 - Sioux Falls, SD-The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announced that they will be participating in the Bethany Meadows Chili Cook-off to raise money for Tsunami relief at Bethany Meadows senior living community on Saturday, January 29th in Brandon, SD. They will be hosting their first Chili Cook-off from 11:30-2:30 p.m. with this years proceeds going to the National Red Cross, International Disaster Relief fund to benefit the victims of the Tsunami.
Bethany Meadows has invited area chili chefs to participate in the cook-off and invite the public to come out and taste test the chili and vote for the peoples choice winner. For a suggested donation of $5 for adults or $3 for children ages 5-10, attendees will enjoy chili and all the trimmings, drinks, and entertainment. The staff and residents of Bethany Meadows will also be hard at work in the next weeks preparing baked goods that will be on sale during the event, with all proceeds to benefit the victims of the Tsunami.
We are excited about the interest that we have received from area businesses and individuals in participating in our first Chili Cook-off. If it proves successful we plan to make this an annual event with the proceeds benefiting a different charity each year, stated Deborah Herrboldt, administrator of Bethany Meadows.
