January 18, 2005 - Dayton, OH-The Dayton Warbirds, an expansion team in the United Indoor Football Association (UIF), are excited to announce the newest addition to their team, Andy Harmon, who will serve as the Director of Player Development.

Harmon started his football career in Centerville, OH and continued it at Kent State University, where he was named First Team All-MAC and MAC Defensive Player of the Year in 1989.

In ‘91 Harmon was drafted to the Philadelphia Eagles, where he played for seven seasons and in ‘94 was named Team Defensive MVP and a member of the All Madden Team. Harmon also holds the Eagles’ record for most sacks in a career by a defensive tackle with 40.5 sacks.

“Harmon will foster a relationship between the Dayton Warbirds and the NFL,” Jeffrey A. Jodway, President and General Manager of the Warbirds, said. “He will prepare our guys for the next level and make sure they have every opportunity to progress.”

“Andy brings a great deal of knowledge and experience to our staff,” said Warbirds head coach Matt King. “He knows what it takes to play at the professional level, and his understanding of the game will allow us to develop our players into champions.”

The Warbirds kick off their inaugural season March 17th at the Nutter Center. Season tickets are on sale now. For more information on the Warbirds, please visit their website at www.daytonwarbirds.com or call the office at (937) 427-9737.
