January 11, 2005 - Lexington, KY-The Lexington Horsemen and LM Communications has agreed on terms for a 2005 Radio Agreement. LM Communications a Lexington based Radio Company will carry all Horsemen games on WLXO FM 96.1.
LM Communications will have exclusive rights to all Horsemen Radio Broadcast for the 2005 season. LM Communications will also air a weekly segment on WLXG
AM 1300 every Sunday morning beginning January 23. Horsemen updates will be broadcast through the entire season. LM will also have weekly ticket give aways to lucky callers.
In other news, Bob Sphire will return for his second season as Head Coach of the National Champion Lexington Horsemen. Sphire was named Coach of the Year for his efforts in leading the Horsemen to the 2004 National Championship.
Sphire helped the Horsemen advance to the playoffs and win its first ever Atlantic Conference North Division title by defeating the defending Champions the Ohio Valley Greyhounds and then ultimately lead the Horsemen to their berth in Indoor Bowl IV winning the 2004 National Championship by defeating the Sioux Falls Storm.
Sphire, with a record of 14-4 and a National Championship under his belt, also returns his coaching staff in tact. Returning with Coach Sphire will be Mike Zuckerman as Defensive Coordinator, Mike Harmon as Special Teams and Defensive Line. Gary McPeek returns to Coach the Offensive Line, and Troy Hobbs will Coach the Defensive Backs and Receivers. Other Volunteer Assistants will be named by Sphire at a later date |
