The Horsemen (5-3) are half game back of division-leading Evansville in the UIF South Division. We came ready to play against Tupelo and it really showed, Horsemen head coach Bob Sphire said. Our defense did a nice job of setting the tone for us.
Lexingtons potent special-team unit is leading the UIF in kick returns. Led by William Mulder, who earned UIF Special Teams Player of the Week honors for Week 7, the Horsemen are leading the league in kickoff returns. Lexington has returned 43 kicks for 902 yards (21.0 avg.) with two touchdowns.
The Horsemen also are first in the league in turnover margin with a +8 turnover ratio. In its last game vs. Tupelo, Lexington recovered four Fireants interceptions for 93 yards.

The Raptors are in third place in the UIF South Division and are averaging 36.0 points per game, while the Horsemen are averaging 48.6 ppg. This will be the first time the Horsemen have ever faced the Raptors.
Following Saturdays contest, the Horsemen return home for a critical match-up with interdivision foe Omaha on May 28 with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. in Rupp Arena.
