March 18, 2005 - Omaha, NE - The inaugural season of United Indoor Football is set to kick-off in Evansville, Indiana, were the Bluecats will host the Tennessee Valley Raptors. The South Division contest is scheduled for kick-off at 7:05 p.m. ET on Saturday, March 19. This will mark the first-ever meeting between the Bluecats and Raptors. Tennessee Valley Head Coach Dick Adams and Evansville Head Coach Ollie Guidry are no strangers to indoor football. Adams is a 25-year Hall of Fame coaching veteran, spending the last ten in indoor football, and Guidry has extensive experience in coaching and playing the indoor game.
In other Week 1 action on Saturday, the Lexington Horsemen will visit the Tupelo FireAnts in a South Division match-up which kicks-off at 7:30 p.m. CT. Two North Division games are slated as the Sioux City Bandits host the Black Hills Red Dogs and the Sioux Falls Storm travel to battle the Omaha Beef. Kick-off for both games is planned for 7:05 p.m. CT.
Week 1 concludes on Sunday, March 20, as the Fort Wayne Freedom entertain the Ohio Valley Greyhounds in a Midwest Division matinee game. Kick-off in Fort Wayne, Indiana, is at 4:00 p.m. ET. Scores and highlights for all UIF games can be viewed at unitedindoorfootball.com.
