Paul Aaron was President and majority owner of Pinnacle Sports Productions, LLC. Mr. Aaron and his partner, Dale Jensen, founded Pinnacle Sports in February, 1996. Pinnacle Sports was the broadcast rights holder for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln sports broadcasts including football, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and baseball. The Pinnacle Sports Network includes 68 radio stations in 16 states. Mr. Aaron sold Pinnacle Sports to Triple Crown Media Inc./Host Communications on September 18, 2006. Prior to joining UIF, his most recent business interests include a long term consulting agreement with Host Communications and various real estate activities including the ownership of apartments, homes and an office building in Omaha, NE.
Mr. Aaron has had over 28 years experience in the broadcast industry. He was Director of Broadcasting for the McClatchy Broadcast Company. He was responsible for the total operation of the broadcast division including, but not limited to, the development of strategic plans for the radio markets of Fresno, Modesto and Sacramento, CA and Reno, NV. Mr. Aaron supervised the General Managers of each market and personally managed the stations in Sacramento. Mr. Aaron hired a relatively unknown talent at Sacramento station KFBK in 1982. His name is Rush Limbaugh and after developing his talent in Sacramento, Rush went on to host the most successful radio program in the history of broadcasting.
Mr. Aaron has been the General Manager of major radio stations in Cleveland, Indianapolis, Sacramento and Omaha. Each of those stations broadcast significant college and/or professional sports broadcasts including: Ohio State football, University of Nebraska Football and Basketball, Stanford University Football, the Sacramento Kings, the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Cleveland Crusaders.
Mr. Aaron and his wife Patricia live in Elkhorn, NE. They have two children: daughter Erica who earned her Master of Education degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and began her teaching assignment at St. Stephen the Martyr School in Omaha last fall; and son Matt who served in the United States Army for six years including two tours of duty in Iraq. Matt is currently employed by Duncan Aviation in Lincoln, NE.
