UIF Announces Week 4 Players of the Week

April 18, 2006 - Omaha, NE: United Indoor Football (UIF) is pleased to announce the Week 4 Players of the Week. The Ohio Valley Greyhounds etched their first victory of the season and their first Players of the Week in quarterback, Matt Kohn and linebacker, Brock Dodrill. The Special Teams Player of the Week went to Ton-Ton Luzayadio (EVA) for the second time this season.

Matt Kohn led the Greyhounds to their first victory of the season and re-wrote the record books for Ohio Valley. Kohn threw for an amazing 314 yards passing from 23 of 32 passes and 6 touchdowns. Matt also rushed for 80-yards and two touchdowns. He accounted for 48 of the 60 points the Hounds scored on Saturday night’s victory over Peoria, 60-53. Kohn’s performance ranks first in the UIF record books with 394 net offensive yards, 314-yards passing, and tied with 6 TD passes with Bloomington’s, Dusty Burke for the 2006 season. These records are all franchise highs for the Greyhounds organization as well.

Defensively for the Hounds, Brock Dodrill, took the Defensive Player of the Week for his outstanding play at the linebacker position in the win over the Rough Riders. Dodrill made 6 solo tackles, 5 assisted tackles and one interception that he returned for 17-yards and the touchdown. Brock is leading the Greyhounds in the four games this season with 24 solo tackles, 17 assisted, one tackle for a loss, one interception and two blocked kicks thus far. He ranks second in the UIF with 8.1 total tackles a game behind Evansville’s John Winchester’s 8.8 tackles a game. Kohn and Dodrill will host the Bloomington Extreme at 7:30 pm EST this Saturday at Wesbanco Arena.

For the second time this season, the Evansville BlueCats kicker, Ton-Ton Luzayadio, has been awarded the Special Teams Player of the Week. Ton-Ton went 4 for 5 in field goal attempts by nailing two 39-yarders, a 25-yard and a 41-yarder. He also hit all five of his Point After Touchdown (PAT’s) attempts. He currently sits first in the UIF in scoring by kick with 12.2 points a game and in total field goals with 12 on the season. Ton-Ton will host the undefeated Lexington Horsemen in Week 5 action with a 7:05 pm CST kick-off at Roberts Stadium in Evansville, IN.

Players receiving honorable mention for Week 4 are: Offense—Dusty Burke, BLO; Defense—Tyrone Rhone, SFS; Special Teams—Collin Barber, LEX.
