The Beef are pleased to announce the return of three all stars from their 2008 roster. Wide receiver, Javon Bell, cornerback, Brent Hafford, and kicker, Ricky Lebeda have all been re-signed and plan to return to the Beef for the 2009 season.
“We are extremely excited to have Javon, Brent, and Ricky back for the upcoming season,” said Team President, Dakota Crow. “All three bring a wealth of experience, leadership, and talent to the playing field. We have high hopes and expectations for them and the entire Beef team in 2009.”
Bell, a native of Florida, had a fabulous rookie season in 2008. He ended the season with 56 receptions for 500 yards and 11 touchdowns. Bell had a great collegiate career at Dana College finishing in the top three in all the major receiving categories.
A native of Jasper, Texas, Hafford will be entering his third season with the Beef in 2009. In 2007, he racked up 76.5 tackles, 1.5 sacks, 3 interceptions, and 10 pass breakups. In 2008, Hafford was tied for second on the Beef with 6 interceptions. He also had 63.5 tackles, and 14 pass breakups. Hafford attended Stephen F. Austin University.
Lebeda, a graduate of Dana College and Omaha native, had a great rookie season in 2008. He connected on 22 of 52 field goal attempts as well as 60 of 76 extra point attempts. Lebeda holds the Dana record for most points, most field goals, and most points after touchdown.
The BEEF are celebrating their 10th year of Professional Indoor Football in Omaha, NE. Home games are played March through July.
