Bismarck, ND– The Colorado Ice of the new Indoor Football League (IFL) are traveling to Bismarck, North Dakota for an open tryout to be held on Saturday, January 31st from 12:30-3:30 pm at the Pebble Creek Golf Course in the Fore Seasons Golf Dome.
The Colorado Ice has signed a number of talented, big-name players as of late, but is still seeking a few key additional players to round out their player roster for the upcoming 2009 season. Colorado Ice Head Coach Collins Sanders has strong ties to the Bismarck area from his time coaching the Blaze and Roughriders and is optimistic that the Bismarck region will produce the talent he is looking for. Sanders stated, “In the past, we have signed some very talented players from the Dakotas. The University of Mary and Dickinson State have produced some of the best talent I have coached in the indoor game. The area is a football power-house, and we hope to tap into our resources there and find a few gems for our upcoming season.” Current and former Colorado Ice players include RB Ryan Drinkwater from Valley City State, DL Ross Walker from Dickinson State, and WR Ed Renteria from Jamestown College.
The Ice will be conducting a combine-style tryout with height, weight, 40 yard dash, 225 bench x reps, vertical jump, and pro agility (right and left) tested.
