WR and Kicker join Wild

The Wichita Wild of the Indoor Football League (IFL) is excited to announce the first player signings for the 2009 team. The Wild has re-signed 2008 league All-Star wide receiver Donald Payne as well as Dylan Pohlman who will kick for the team in 2009. Both players are Wichita natives. Over the next nine weeks, the Wild will sign 35-40 players, who will participate in training camp which will begin the week of March 9.  

 

This will mark Payne’s fourth year of professional football in Wichita. In 2008, Payne led the Wild in receptions with 36 and receiving yards with 420. He also scored three touchdowns during the campaign. Payne played his first year of professional football with the Wichita Aviators. Donald played both football and basketball at Appalachian State in Boone, NC.

 

Pohlman will return to Wichita for his sixth season of professional football. The Tabor College alum played seven games for Corpus Christi of Arena Football2 (af2) during the 2008 season. Pohlman was 6-of-10 on field goal attempts and 32-of-42 on PAT’s. Pohlman spent the 2006 and 2007 season with the Manchester Wolves of af2 where he was 5-of-17 on field goals and 74-of-91 of PAT’s.  In 2005, Dylan spent the season with the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgs of af2. Pohlman made 3-of-5 field goals and was 20-of-28 on PAT’s.

 

Pohlman started his professional career in Wichita with the Stealth of af2 in 2004. He was 4-of-18 on field goals and 65-of-89 on PAT’s. Pohlman graduated from Tabor is 2003 and holds the majority of Blue Jay kicking records including Career Fields Goals and PAT’s and also holds the school record for points in a career (118) and a season (58).
