UIF Week 14 Players of the Week announced

June 27, 2007 - Omaha, NE - United Indoor Football is pleased to announce that Chris Dixon, Hunter Pingston and Doug Daniel have been named the three Players of the Week for week 14. Dixon picked up his second Offensive Player of the Week Award after leading the Billings Outlaws to a win over the RiverCity Rage; he also received the award in week 11. Pingston had a huge fourth quarter in helping the Evansville BlueCats defeat the Sioux City Bandits to earn Defensive Player of the Week. Daniel, of the Rock River Raptors, earned his second Special Teams Player of the Week Award after his play against the Ohio Valley Greyhounds; he also received the award in week 12.

Chris Dixon (BIL) completed 20 of 26 passes for 244 yards and six touchdowns; he also rushed for 25 yards on six carries and a touchdown as the Outlaws defeated the Rage 62-36. Dixon and the rest of the Outlaws will look to extend their winning streak to eight games when they face the Rage again Saturday; this time in St. Charles, MO.

Hunter Pingston (EVA) had three key takeaways in fourth quarter of the BlueCats’ 40-30 victory over the Bandits. The takeaways consisted of two interceptions and a recovered fumble he returned 48 yards for a touchdown, which is a league record. He also had three solo tackles in the game. Pingston and his BlueCats teammates will be on the road this weekend, facing Ohio Valley.

Doug Daniel (ROC) converted two of three on field goals from 22 and 35 yards and went eight of nine on PAT’s. The Raptors’ 70-31 win over the Greyhounds has Rock River on top of the Eastern Conference heading into week 15 as they host the Lexington Horsemen.

Receiving Week 14 Honorable Mentions are: Offense, Randy Bell (ROC); Defense, Justin Landis (SFS); and Special Teams, Derek Kutz (RC).
