James Jones Returns to Storm

June 21, 2007 - Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) would like to announce that kick return specialist and running back/wide receiver James Jones has joined the team for the remainder of the season. Jones last played for the Storm during the team’s 2005 regular season and run to the United Bowl I Championship.

Jones joined the Storm in 2005 after spending the 2004 season in Rapid City. Jones played defensive back and accounted for 53 tackles to go with 600 all-purpose yards of offense for the Red Dogs. In 2005, Jones led the Storm in receptions with 53 during the regular season. Jones ranked second on the team in rushing yards with 295 and led the team with 1,350 kick return yards. Jones led the team with 22 touchdowns and compiled 2,198 all-purpose yards. Jones spent the 2006 season with Rapid City and the first part of this season with the Wyoming Cavalry, member of a different league.

Jones was a member of the 1997 NCAA Division II Championship team at The University of Northern Colorado in his lone season in Greeley, CO.

Jones is expected to play on Saturday as the Storm travel to Lexington, KY to take on the Horsemen. Fans can listen to the game live on KELO 1320 AM Radio with pre-game starting at 6:15 PM or on the Internet by logging onto www.siouxfallsstorm.com and clicking on the “Listen Live” link. The Storm will return home on Saturday, June 30th and to clash with the Colorado Ice. The game is presented by Orthopedic Institute.
