February 22, 2005 - Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm of United Indoor Football (UIF) held its final tryouts for the upcoming season over the weekend and it produced exciting results. The team plans on inviting nearly a dozen players back for the team’s training camp which begins March 4.
Highlighting the latest additions are indoor veteran wide receivers Chad Gomarko, Jesse Haines, and James Jones. Gomarko played wide receiver for the Storm in 2002 and 2003 while Jones saw action last season with the Black Hills Red Dogs. He racked up 57 tackles and 604 return yards last season. Haines also has two years of experience with the Storm.
Indoor newcomers Clarence Woods (WR, University of Minnesota), Tyrone Rhone (DB, UW-Stout), Marques Smith (WR, Dakota Wesleyan), Osaro Kyles (OL, Dakota Wesleyan), and Bobby Ruffin (RB, Minnesota State-Mankato) made an impact and will challenge for a spot on the final roster. Josh Gassen, Brandon Sweeney, Jim Stanek (DL, Winona State) and Steve Swain (DL, Southwest State) will also battle for a position on the squad.
