December 17, 2005 - United Indoor Football announced the structure for the 2006 playoffs today.



League directors voted to award post-season berths to six teams. The top teams in the East, Central and West divisions will win their respective division titles and will be seated according to their overall record. The remaining three teams with the best overall records in league play will be awarded the final three playoff spots according to their overall record.



The playoffs will be seeded from 1 to 6. The No. 1 and No. 2 seeds will have a bye for the first week of the playoffs. In that first week of playoffs, the No. 3 seed will host the No. 6 seed while seed No. 4 will host seed No. 5.



In the second round, the No. 1 seed will host the lowest remaining seed. The No. 2 seed will host the second lowest remaining seed.



The playoffs are scheduled to start on the weekend from July 14 to 16. The second round is set for the weekend of July 21 to 23. The league championship, United Bowl II, is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 29.
