 September 14, 2005 - Evansville, IN - The Evansville BlueCats met with other UIF teams at the annual UIF league meetings this past weekend in St. Louis, Missouri. The BlueCats made some team news during the weekend and would like to announce that Evansville BlueCats owner and president John Voliva was elected chairman of the UIF Expansion Committee and was elected to be a member of the UIF Executive Committee.
This will be John’s second year serving on the expansion committee and first year on the executive committee. The executive committee works directly with league commissioner Dakota Crow and also oversees his actions. The committee takes care of the day-to-day operations of league, makes some decisions on league issues, and is very hands-on running the league. Major league decisions on large key issues are made by vote from all teams.
Evansville BlueCats president and owner John Voliva said, “I’m honored to be elected to the Executive Committee and Chairman of the Expansion Committee. I certainly am looking forward to these new league roles and responsibilities.”
Season tickets for the 2006 indoor football season are on sale now at the Evansville BlueCats office. Ten percent of all BlueCats sales (season tickets, corporate sales, and merchandise) sold in the month of September will go the American Red Cross to help in the relief efforts from Hurricane Katrina.
