September 14, 2005 - Sioux Falls, SD - The Sioux Falls Storm returned from St. Louis, Missouri after a weekend of United Indoor Football (UIF) meetings. Several key issues were discussed and decided on during the three day event. Among those decided was the transfer of the Tennessee Valley (Huntsville, AL) team to Rockford, Illinois. The move was approved by a unanimous vote of the UIF Board of Directors. Also decided in St. Louis were some key dates for the 2006 season. Training camp for the 2006 season will start on March 10 throughout the league with the regular season opener of the UIF starting the weekend of March 24th thru the 26th. A 2006 schedule will be released at end of October.
At the meeting in St. Louis, team awards for the 2005 season were presented. The awards were voted on by all eleven member of the UIF. The Sioux Falls Storm walked away with five great awards. The following are the list of awards the Storm received from their peers:
“Radio Broadcaster of the Year” – Rich Roste, Sioux Falls Storm (unanimous vote)
“Best Game Day Presentation” – Sioux Falls Storm
“Best Mascot” – (tie) Blizzard, Sioux Falls Storm & Sir Loin, Omaha Beef
“Executive of the Year” – Colin Steen, Sioux Falls Storm
“Top Website” – www.siouxfallsstorm.com

With the move of Tennessee Valley to Rockford, Illinois, more and more, our League is solidifying their commitment to controlling travel and maintaining and expanding the Midwest,” says General Manager, Colin Steen.
