September 27, 2007 - Wichita, KS - Wink Hartman, the owner of the Wichita Wild of United Indoor Football (UIF), made a $10,000 donation to the Susan G. Komen Foundation this morning.
Hartman was at work and was listening to KRBB-FM when he heard the station trying to raise $10,000 by auctioning off a pair of NASCAR tickets. The station was trying to raise the money for the Susan G. Komen Foundation Race for the Cure to benefit breast cancer.
Hartman called the radio station and made a $10,000 donation; provided the station would keep the NASCAR tickets and keep raising money.
Hartman said, “This is a worthwhile cause and this was something that needed to be done.” The race will be held Saturday, starting at 7 a.m., located at Towne East Square in Wichita.
